DIY HEMP PRODUCTS
Here you will find recipes to make your own hemp products for affordable everyday use.
We want cannabis products to be accessible to everyone who benefits from them. If you rely on this incredible plant, it doesn't need to be an out of reach expense. We love cannabis and want to make sure everyone who wants to use it is able to. After decades of prohibition, we don't want a price tag to stop folks from using it. ALCOHOL EXTRACTION/TINCTURE
Making your own alcohol based extract or tincture is incredibly simple. You will need:
- Glass jar
- Hemp flower
- Wire mesh strainer
- Alcohol (high proof)
Simply take your hemp flower and break it up (do this over a plate or bowl so as not to make a mess!) then place it in your glass jar. Pour alcohol over to cover all the material & close the jar. Depending on your preference you can let this sit for a few minutes or a few weeks. Traditional herbal tinctures are left to steep 4-6 weeks, but most CBD products extract only the oil glands off the surface of the plant, which can happen quickly. Be warned that the longer it steeps the more bitter and less palatable the flavor can become.
When you’ve steeped it to your liking you can pour the mixture through the wire mesh strainer. This should be kept tightly sealed to avoid evaporation, and kept out of direct sunlight.
It can be tricky to determine the potency of your tincture. By using the potency tests of our material you should be able to get a pretty good idea of how much CBD, CBDV, or CBG is in your finished product.
For example:
The high terpene biomass test results show the CBD content is 114 mg/g so if you were to add 230grams of flower to 13oz alcohol, you would have approximately 2,016mg CBD per oz. That would cost about $100 to make 13 oz. Compare that to purchasing 13 oz of our 2,000mg oil for $520!!!! Making your own CBD products is an affordable way to use CBD products daily. . Make your own CBD infused oil, for making edibles, feeding to pets, or as a base for making salve.
You will need:
- CBD flower biomass or trimmed flower
- Oil (butter, olive oil, MCT oil and coconut oil work great)
- A double boiler
- Wire mesh strainer
Simply take you hemp flower and break it up (do this over a plate or bowl so as not to make a mess!) Then place flower and oil into the double boiler and heat on low for an hour or more. A crock pot also works great for this. Once you are done infusing the oil, place wire mesh strainer over another pot or bowl and pour material into it. You can gently press down the material with a spoon or other utensil to try to squeeze as much of the oil out as possible. You can also use cheesecloth to strain the oil.

Make your own hemp salve
You will need:
- Hemp infused Oil (see recipe to make your own)
- A pot
- Wire mesh strainer
- Bees wax
(a general rule is 4 oz oil to 1oz beeswax but you can start with less and add until you reach desired consistency)
In a saucepan or double boiler, on low heat so as not to burn, gently warm the oil and add the beeswax. Stir until the beeswax is fully incorporated & turn off heat. To test your batch, drop some of the mixture onto a small plate to let it cool and see if it is the desired texture. It should be soft, but not too soft. Remember, just as when you add salt to soup, you can always add more but you cant take it out once its in there. Pour finished blend into a glass jar and now you have your own homemade salve. Get creative! A few drops of lavender essential oil added after you remove it from the heat, can make for a relaxing muscle rub. Be creative and don’t hesitate to experiment.
